How many continents have you travelled to?

Visiting all seven continents in our world is no easy task. Is it or was it on your “bucket list” to see all seven continents or is it your love of travel and adventure coupled with a desire to visit the people and cultures of the world that are the driving force behind such an ambitious goal? Each continent offers such diverse unique cultures, history and wildlife. Travelling to them allows us to make personal connections with the places we have heard about since childhood.

I have only walked on four of the seven continents, but recently stood on China’s Great Wall and can remember wondering as a child if I would ever have the opportunity to travel there. What a privilege it was to walk along this magnificent wall and get in touch with the history that built it. In Africa I was thrilled to see the animals in their natural habitat and stand in the cell where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years of his life. Castles and cathedrals and their history were what intrigued me and drew me to Europe.

Living in both the United States and Canada, just two of the countries on the North American continent, has provided me with the opportunity to stand on Alaska’s glaciers, hike in the Canadian Rockies, drive across prairies and stay in vibrant metropolitan cities. Close proximity and short travel time have allowed for an up close and personal look at the harsh deserts and beautiful beaches of Mexico and the lush tropical isthmus of Central America.

I have enjoyed trips to all of these four continents as a passenger with Wells Gray Tours and I hope the remaining three continents will be achieved on future tours. They make travel easy!

Wells Gray Tours has visited all seven continents; Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe and Australia, listed from largest to smallest. If you are one of the lucky people that have travelled with us to all seven continents we would like to recognize you for this remarkable achievement.

In May we will be hosting our annual Customer Appreciation Spring Teas and we will recognize three well-travelled individuals at these events in their home cities. Each of these individuals will receive a personalized gift plus a $500 Wells Gray Tours certificate.
