Leavenworth will celebrate its 29th season of theatre in 2024, anchored by its signature production, The Sound of Music. Experience the magic of theatre under the stars as you watch the show outdoors at the Ski Hill Amphitheatre. The sun falls behind the ridge, the moon rises over the valley, and Maria starts singing her much-loved title song. The second show is Beauty and the Beast. We stay three nights at the lovely Enzian Inn, located near Leavenworth’s town square and convenient to the shops. Ontario Theatre

BC Interior, Vancouver Island, and Lower Mainland departures: October 1, 2024 – 10 Days

Ontario is the place to be if you want to experience Canadian theatre with the greatest selection of shows. Toronto has firmly established itself as the Broadway of Canada, plus the long running Stratford Festival and Shaw Festival consistently attract the best of stage actors. You will see 11 shows on this tour, sometimes with a choice between 2 shows or a choice to opt out. The Mirvish theatres in Toronto bring in the big shows and we see Come From Away and Life of Pi. The Stratford Festival was founded in 1952 and presents thought provoking productions of Shakespeare’s plays, as well as others from the classical repertoire. The Shaw Festival has been running since 1962 in Niagara-on-the-Lake and produces plays from George Bernard Shaw’s era and other contemporary plays. The Greg Frewin dinner theatre presents the spectacle of the world’s greatest illusionist.

On this tour, we also see Niagara Falls, one of the world’s mightiest waterfalls; have lunch in the revolving restaurant atop Skylon Tower where we admire a fabulous view of the Horseshoe and American Falls; enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Niagara area conducted by a local guide; and ride the Hornblower (formerly Maid of the Mist) for an awesome view of the Horseshoe and American Falls from the river.
