Neil Diamond in Vancouver!
Join Wells Gray Tours for Mr. Diamond’s 50th Anniversary tour this July in Vancouver. If you are like me, you have been listening to Neil Diamond since he released his first single under his own name Solitary Man.
Neil Diamond, now 75 years old was born in Brooklyn, New York of Jewish immigrant parents. It was while attending a summer camp in upstate New York and listening to folk singer Pete Seeger, that he realized he wanted to write and perform music. He came home from camp and got his first guitar at age 16. Writing songs and poems became a way for Neil to express himself.
Music, however, was not his only interest and after graduating from high school, Neil decided to pursue his interest in the sciences and finding a cure for cancer after losing his grandmother. Did you know that Neil Diamond was a skilled fencer and a member of the 1960 NCAA Men’s Championship fencing team? Attending New York University on a fencing scholarship, Mr. Diamond entered the pre-med program with his sights set on medical research. Fortunately for all of us who love his songs, in his senior year, only a few credits short of graduation, Neil decided to leave school and pursue a career in music.
If you are a Neil Diamond fan, this is a tour you will not want to miss! Wells Gray Tours has acquired excellent seating for this performance and the spaces have been booking up quickly. Please call any one of our offices to secure your seat.
