Artisans and specialty producers abound in the Gulf Islands and on Vancouver Island. World class craftsmen are drawn here by the laid back idyllic lifestyle, and they stay because they find a vibrant market for their products. The seaside village of Ganges is a focal point for unique shops, highlighted by its Saturday Market. Chemainus has numerous craft shops, galleries, and dozens of murals. In Parksville, we stay at an oceanfront hotel and visit attractions such as Cathedral Grove, Englishman River Falls, and Coombs Market. Two shows are featured for the BC departure on October 10, 2024 – Cirque du Soleil’s ECHO in Vancouver and The Piano Teacher in Chemainus. One show is featured for the October 11, 2024 departure from the Lower Mainland – The Piano Teacher . Happy Thanksgiving with Wells Gray Tours!

Thanksgiving in Whistler

Vancouver Island departure only: October 11, 2024 – 4 Days

Whistler Village. Thanksgiving in Whistler Wells Gray Tour.
View of Whistler Village.

In 1966, the Garibaldi Lift Company opened its ski area on Whistler Mountain. Blackcomb Mountain opened in 1980, and Whistler Village was built at the base of these adjacent mountains. Its growth into an award-winning, international resort, is unparalleled in ski history. The Village was carefully designed to reap the benefits of the Coast Mountains’ excellent geographical location, emphasizing sun exposure and mountain vistas. We stay in Whistler for 3 nights at the Delta Whistler Village Suites, located right on the town square. There are choices of activities such as Audain Art Museum or Squamish Lil’Wat Cultural Centre, and the Railway Museum or a jeep tour of Olympic Games sites. During the drive to and from Whistler, we ride the Sea to Sky Gondola and explore the Brittania Mine Museum with the show, Boom! Celebrate Thanksgiving with a weekend in Whistler.
