ACTIVITY LEVEL
Level
Light Activity: You are a traveller who prefers to see places without a lot of physical activity. You can climb a flight of stairs, board a coach, stand for short periods and walk at a leisurely pace with breaks for up to 30 minutes without difficulty or assistance. Some seats for Come From Away are in the balcony and these are assigned to the last people to book. There is no elevator to the balcony level seats, so you must be able to climb the stairs to your seats. You may need to handle your own luggage at the hotel if luggage service is not available.
You may bring a walker or cane to support your mobility. Please let us know when you book if you will be bringing a walker on this tour. The coach cannot carry a scooter or motorized wheelchair. The tour director and driver have
many responsibilities, so please do not expect them, or your fellow travellers, to provide ongoing assistance. If you are not capable of keeping up with the group or require frequent assistance, the tour director may stop you from
participating in some activities or some days of the tour.

Come From Away: Come From Away is a Canadian musical with a book, music and lyrics written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein. It is set in the week following the September 11, 2001 attacks and tells the true story of what transpired when 38 planes were ordered to land unexpectedly in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland. The characters in the musical are based on (and in most cases share the names of) real Gander residents as well as some of the 7,000 stranded travellers they housed and fed. The musical has been received by audiences and critics as a cathartic reminder of the capacity for human kindness in even the darkest of times and the triumph of humanity over hate. Come From Away had modest beginnings in 2013 at a college theatre in Ontario, then had recordbreaking runs in 2015 at La Jolla Playhouse and Seattle Repertory Theatre, and in 2016 at Ford’s Theatre in Washington and Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. Come From Away opened on Broadway in March 2017 and became a phenomenal box office success, routinely playing to sold-out audiences. At the 71st Tony Awards, Come From Away was nominated for seven awards including Best Musical and Best Score, and won Best Direction of a Musical. The show has also won five Outer Critics Circle awards, three Drama Desk awards, and four Helen Hayes awards. This show is at the Stanley Theatre.

Mamma Mia!: This heartwarming and hilarious tale includes over 20 classic ABBA songs including Dancing Queen; The Winner Takes It All; Knowing Me, Knowing You; Thank You for the Music; Money, Money, Money; SOS, and of course Mamma Mia! This sunny, funny storybook musical has broken every London box office record since opening in 1999 and is still playing 26 years later. It’s the 3rd longest running musical in London and, on July 17, 2024, celebrated its 10,000th performance. Mamma Mia! ran for five years in Toronto. On Broadway, it ran for 14 years and closed in 2015 after 5,773 performances, then a revival opened in 2025. It has played in 40 countries on six continents, and about 70 million people have attended the shows. This show is at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

Please book early: The two included shows have different deadlines for our commitment to the number of seats purchased. Theatres will recall seats from our original reservation if our bookings have been slow, especially for extremely popular shows such as Come From Away and Mamma Mia!, so waiting too long to book usually means “Sorry, wait until next time the shows are here.” Then we have to turn away disappointed customers, even though seats are available on the motorcoach. Therefore, please don’t delay booking this tour.
-
Theatre seat assignments: Seats for both shows are assigned according to the date you booked the tour.
-
Show cancellation: It rarely happens, but actors occasionally get sick, or some mishap causes the cancellation of a show. This can occur even shortly before the performance begins. We know that this would be disappointing for our customers, but the only refund we would be able to obtain for you would be the actual ticket price of the show. The hotel, motorcoach, and other tour services are all prepaid and are nonrefundable at short notice.
-
Food Allergies: You must notify us no later than at final payment if you have a food allergy. An allergy causes medical distress, a preference does not. For some allergies, please consider bringing your own snacks or food items so you are not dependent on what restaurants are able to serve.
-
Payments: deposit of $200 per person is requested at the time of booking and balance is due April 1, 2026. By paying the deposit, you agree to the Terms & Conditions, Activity Level, and Cancellation Policy outlined. Payments can be made by online banking or cheque (3% discount on tour fare), or by Visa or Mastercard.
-
Cancellation Policy: Up to March 2, 2026, the cancellation charge is $50 per person. From March 3 to April 1, the cancellation charge is $200 per person (your deposit). From April 2 to May 1, the cancellation charge is 60% of the tour fare. After May 1, there is no refund.
-
Itinerary and Fare Changes: Our many suppliers may notify us about changes to the itinerary prior to departure and sometimes during the tour. We do our best to substitute a similar service if something cancels, but occasionally the only alternative is to provide a refund for the missed activity. Please note that if we are forced to cancel a tour component due to an issue beyond our control, the current penalties still apply if you choose to cancel the entire tour. Fuel surcharges and changes to taxes or other tour costs can occur at any time, therefore Wells Gray Tours reserves the right to increase fares due to such changes up to departure.
-
Travel Insurance: A Comprehensive Insurance policy is available through Wells Gray Tours and coverage is provided by Travel Guard. Policies purchased at deposit include a waiver of the pre-existing condition clause for medical and cancellation claims, otherwise policies can be purchased no later than at final payment. This tour stays in British Columbia. While your BC Services Card may cover you for a medical issue that arises during the tour, you will probably benefit from trip cancellation and trip interruption coverage in case of illness or a mishap before or during the tour. Many other benefits such as luggage insurance are included. Medical questionnaire is not needed. Please contact us for details. If you have your own travel insurance, please read the policy carefully to be sure that you are adequately covered for cancellation, interruption, and luggage.
