TOUR SUMMARY
Includes Helmcken Falls & Spahats Falls
Celebrate the beauty of the Canadian Rockies with new and familiar friends, just as travellers have done for over a century. You’ll breathe in crisp mountain air, admire vibrant fall colours, and take in the peaceful landscapes of Jasper National Park at a comfortable, unhurried pace. Staying at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge during the quieter fall season, you can enjoy the setting without the summer crowds. While the Lodge’s long-running Fall Fling is no longer offered, you’ll experience a similar getaway thoughtfully organized by Wells Gray Tours, complete with included meals, attractions, and sightseeing. Your journey follows the scenic Yellowhead Highway, with a visit into Wells Gray Provincial Park to see Helmcken Falls, Dawson Falls, and Spahats Falls.

ACTIVITY LEVEL
Level
Light Activity: You are a traveller who prefers to see places without a lot of physical activity. You can climb a flight of stairs, board a coach, stand for short periods and walk at a leisurely pace with breaks for up to 30 minutes without difficulty or assistance. You may need to handle your own luggage at the Clearwater hotel if luggage service is not available. See the accommodation note on page 4 regarding location of your Jasper Park Lodge room; it is not in the main building. You may bring a walker or cane to support your mobility. Please let us know when you book if you will be bringing a walker on this tour. The coach cannot carry a scooter or motorized wheelchair. The tour director and driver have many responsibilities, so please do not expect them, or your fellow travellers, to provide ongoing assistance. If you are not capable of keeping up with the group or require frequent assistance, the
tour director may stop you from participating in some activities or some days of the tour.

This tour can accommodate 40 participants.

AN ICON OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS: Celebrate the majesty of the Canadian Rockies as travellers have been doing for well over a century. The Grand Trunk Pacific Railway built a tent camp here in 1915 to serve its first-class rail passengers. By 1923, the Canadian National Railway had taken over, and built bungalows and a main lodge building which was said to be the largest single-level log structure in the world. It was destroyed by fire in 1952. Jasper Park Lodge set new high standards for accommodation and hospitality in the wilderness. Many celebrities have stayed, including Bing Crosby, John Travolta, the Kennedys, Marilyn Monroe, Queen Elizabeth, and Prince Philip.
-
FAIRMONT ACCOMMODATION NOTE: The main building of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge has the lobby, dining rooms, lounge, activity rooms, pool, shops, and a few bedrooms available to guests in wheelchairs or with significant mobility challenges. You are staying in rooms located around the extensive parklike grounds in individual cabins, duplexes, or small motel-like buildings. If you want a lake view, you should book a “Lakefront Suite” as Fairmont and Deluxe Fairmont categories do not have lake views. Most rooms are 5 to 10 minutes leisurely walk to the main building but, if you prefer not to walk, a very efficient shuttle service operates on request from your room to the main building and back. If you qualify for a room in the main building, we can ask about availability at the time of booking. Please note that Fairmont rooms, deluxe Fairmont rooms and Lakefront Suites are NOT in the main lodge building.
-
Payments: A deposit of $200 per person is requested at the time of booking and the balance is due August 20, 2026. By paying the deposit, you agree to the Terms & Conditions, Activity Level, and Cancellation Policy outlined. Payments can be made by online banking or cheque (3% discount on tour fare), or by Visa or Mastercard.
-
Cancellation Policy: Up to July 20, 2026, the cancellation charge is $50 per person. From July 21 to August 20, the cancellation charge is $100 per person. From August 21 to September 10, the cancellation charge is 60% of the tour fare. After September 10, there is no refund.
-
Itinerary and Fare Changes: Our many suppliers may notify us about changes to the itinerary prior to departure and sometimes during the tour. We do our best to substitute a similar service if something cancels, but occasionally the only alternative is to provide a refund for the missed activity. Please note that if we are forced to cancel a tour component due to an issue beyond our control, the current penalties still apply if you choose to cancel the entire tour. Fuel surcharges and changes to taxes or other tour costs can occur at any time, therefore Wells Gray Tours reserves the right to increase fares due to such changes up to departure.
-
Travel Insurance: A Comprehensive Insurance policy is available through Wells Gray Tours and coverage is provided by Travel Guard. Policies purchased at deposit include a waiver of the pre-existing condition clause for medical and cancellation claims, otherwise policies can be purchased no later than at final payment. This tour stays in Canada, but medical costs can vary a lot from BC to Alberta. While your BC Services Card may partly cover you for a medical issue that arises during the tour, you will probably benefit from trip cancellation and trip interruption coverage in case of illness or a mishap before or during the tour. Many other benefits such as luggage insurance are included. Medical questionnaire is not needed. Please contact us for details. If you have your own travel insurance, please read the policy carefully to be sure that you are adequately covered for medical, cancellation, interruption, and luggage.
-
Food Allergies: You must notify us no later than at final payment if you have a food allergy. An allergy causes medical distress, a preference does not. For some allergies, please consider bringing your own snacks or food items so you are not dependent on what restaurants are able to serve.
